My Mojo

I had lost my workout motivation. I spent 10 days in Mexico , then 2 weeks here, and could barely bring myself to do about 2 workouts a week. I don’t know why, but it was so easy to make so many excuses as to why I shouldn’t workout.



On Saturday I went to the Tony Horton book signing. We had an hour and a half workout with Tony live! It was so exciting. He is such a great motivator. Well that’s all it took for my workout mojo to come back. Well that and all of the coaches I saw with rockin’ hard bodies!



I started a new round of Insanity on Monday. I know I had said I would do a round of p90x, but the 45 min Insanity workouts just sound that much better. I plan on doing one of the p90x arm workouts once a week, for a little extra upper body workout.



I am so ready to see some real changes in my body. I’m excited to see what 60 days of Insanity and eating clean will bring.

Proud

I am so excited and proud of myself. I have lost most of the weight I gained on vacation. I weigh 153 today, and weighed 152 pre vacay. I lost 5.4 pounds this week!!!! Granted, a lot of it was water weight, so it was a little easier to get that much weight off so quickly.

But I will take some of the credit ;) I have had a great clean eating week. I decided not to do the 3 day shakeology cleanse, because after attempting day 1, I was just too hungry. I couldn’t go from eating like a piggy in Mex, to have 3 shakes, fruit and a salad from one day to the next. What I did though, is replace 1 meal and 1 snack with Shakeology.

This is what my week looked like meal wise.
B(8am)- Shakeology w/soy milk
S(10am)- orange and almonds
L(1pm)- subway turkey salad (double meat), oil and vinegar dressing
S(4pm)- nectarine and cottage cheese
D(6pm)- chicken veggies and brown rice
S(9pm)- Shakeology (1/2 serving) w/soy milk

I jumped on my elliptical a couple days this week also. I wanted to ease into the workouts. I was just feeling so heavy and slow when I first got back.

I’m starting a round of P90x on Monday. I’ve never made it past month 2, but this time I WILL! I will keep you all updated on my P90x progress and diet. I don’t want to set specific goals, i.e. weight or size. I usually end up gaining weight my first few weeks of p90x (muscle). My goal is simply to complete a full round of p90x and eat super clean for the next 90 days. I’m sure I’ll feel and look a lot better by the time I’m done.

Bikini season is around the corner!

The bloat

I came back from Mexico bloated. I mean puffy bloated. I’m pretty sure my eyes even seemed smaller from all of the extra cheek! I weighed myself yesterday morning and came in at 158.4. That means I gained about 6.4 pounds on my vacation. Honestly, because of how my pants were fitting, I really thought it was going to be a 10 pound gain. I literally had muffin top on my ring finger! You can imagine the muffin top that was coming over the sides of my jeans. I can laugh about it, because in just two days its’ almost all gone. I have been drinking lots of water, having my Shakeology and eating clean, and I’m already down 3 pounds. My ring no longer looks like its trying to choke my finger out. By belly, although not flat (it never has been) is almost back down to normal.

I wouldn’t call this a “real” weight loss. I was retaining so much water from all the salt and tequila that it came off pretty easily. That means, as of today, I have 3.4 pounds to lose to get back to my pre-Mexico weight. I am confident that I can get rid of those extra pounds in no time and continue on my journey to a bikini body.

Have I mentioned how much I love Shakeology and eating clean?

back from vacay

Hubby and I got back from our vacation this morning. We got home at around 1pm. We had a blast, which is great since I was worried my hubby wouldn’t like it. He did though….. actually I think he loved it! He came back with cowboy boots a cowboy hat and he actually danced banda with me! This was literally my favorite Mexico vacation.

We ate SO much food and drank way too much tequila! I did not touch a salad out there! We ate out mostly and were always on the run, and in the lil town we visited there where literally no healthy options. I was super nervous about this, but then I finally just gave in and enjoyed it. I haven’t weighed myself, so I don’t know the damage yet, but I am guessing I’ve gained about 10 pounds. I’ll let you all know tomorrow. I’m not too worried though, I know how to lose it.

I’m feeling really focused. This is going to be my year. Hubby seems to be super focused too. Having us both on the same page will make our lives easier. I’m going to go shopping for our cooler lunch bags tomorrow and we are going to make our lunches every evening to take to work.

I’m going to start the 3 day shakeology cleanse tomorrow, and on Friday I’m going to follow the guidelines from my clean eating challenge.

Well I just wanted to check in. I want to blog more often this year. Now I’m off to do more laundry! (I think I need a vacation from my vacation! I’m pooped)
